If you have played any of those games, you have atleast somewhat experienced the core gameplay loop of Nier. we have had quite a few of these action adventure games in the vein of God of War, Ninja Gaiden, Bayonetta, Devil Mary Cry, etc. Nier also has contemporaries that accomplishes what it accomplishes in the gameplay department. Nier will probably be something you play through in the space of a couple days and be done with it. but Souls might open to you literally an entire series of games you can enjoy for years to come. Nier is a fantastic game and would definitely be worth your money and enjoyed by you. Its a unique take on the 3rd person action rpg genre that simply hasnt been properly replicated by anyone else. Souls is something that really needs to be experienced by any gamer. I cant really break it down more than that - there is no franchise that has come out in the 25+ years Ive been playing games that competes with it.
Souls is literally the best video game franchise Ive ever played.
